TIP OF THE WEEK:
Pet Barriers
 |
While a crate is often the perfect tool for keeping your dog and your home safe from harm, an alternative to a crate is a barrier. Use a baby gate to confine your dog in a dog-proofed part of your home, such as a laundry or mud room.
If your dog has a tendency to toilet in the house, confine him to a room with a floor of vinyl or tile for easy cleanup of any accidents. Place his bed and some treat-giving toys (such as KONG® products or the Buster® Cube) in the room for him. Consider including an indoor dog toileting system, such as the Pet Loo.
You can also use a gate to block your dog’s access to any areas of the house you regularly deem off-limits, such as a guest room or baby’s room.
